Default School

Who here is in school or graduated from school?

If highschool: What were your favorite subjects?

If College: What degree are you going for/received?

I'm going to be graduating soon with BS in Informatics with E-Commerce Development as my cognate. Although I really picked the cognate just so I can finally finish. Took me 6.5 years to finish but that's ok.

Graduated with a degree in pre-credential Social Science.

I also have my multiple subject teaching credential for teaching in elementary schools, a single subject authorization in Social Studies for teaching in high school, and a VPSS authorization in Language Arts, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and the Sciences for teaching in special settings. I can basically teach all core academic courses, but mostly I teach Algebra I and Geometry to high school students. I teach at a k-12 Charter School.

What was your favorite subject? What would you enjoy teaching the most?

My favorite subjects were my design classes and my agriculture classes. I guess I should have added that I have an AA degree in Ag Business and a certificate in CAD drafting. I started off as an ag business major, then switched to architecture, and finally settled on becoming a teacher.

I enjoy teaching Algebra the most. I especially love it when I am able to teach those kids that have never been able to understand it but finally get it when I teach it to them. It is a very gratifying experience.

Graduating in May with my BS in Computer Science, concentration in Databases and Systems. I have Oracle OCA, OCP, and SQL Expert certifications, but those don't mean jack until I have a university diploma. Starting grad school for a MS in Computer Science in the fall.

Favorite subject is a toss up between various maths (I friggen love Linear Algebra) and Chemistry.

I've seen it happen to some professors I talked to personally and it is a pretty great/life changing experience for both. It happened to me before too and it really is nice.

Personal tips that I've learned along my still short journey:

Leave your ego at the door.
Prepare. Showing up dehydrated, hungry, and tired will guarantee failure.
Be ready to fight for that grinder of a PR.
Listen and learn. Absorb everything you can, and assimilate that knowledge.

Top Gym lifts:
Squat: 415lbs
Deads: 440lbs
Bench: 315lbs
