Default People that I hate at the gym...

We have all heard about people curl in the squat rack, save 10 different pieces of equipment for their circuit work, or talk on the phone for 30 min but insist they are still using the bench. I have found a new breed of idiot however, or maybe just new to me. We will call him Guy Who Can Move A Ton of Weight (about an inch) AKA Captain Lockout.
Some defining characteristics include:
1. Doing seated overhead presses in the power rack with 315 after moving the safety bars up to their top position and only able to lift one side
2. Doing shrugs (again in the power rack) with 405 but being unable to lift it then
a. taking some weight off (lets say 90lbs) and actually almost getting one with straps
b. thinking "now that I'm warmed up lets try 455" and not getting it
3. Doing sets of 5 in his own way
ex: 5 min psych-up/stretch, 5 min rest between REPS, interrupting some poor girls workout to say things like "yeah that almost 500 lbs" (what an opening line)
4. Complete disregard for the 2 other people waiting to do actual lifts.
5. Looking around at everyone else and scoffing like "that's not much weight"
6. Never exceeding 7 reps in a 30 min period.

If anyone else has someone in particular who really gets under your skin at what should be an almost holy place put them on here. Bonus points for pictures and videos, I have one on my phone but it is an old-school one and I was unable to put it on here.

Can't wait to hear other's testosterone filled rants...

You're forgetting what he does after he gets home; spending hours surfing youtube to tell everyone who posts lifting vids how weak and pathetic they are.

I kinda wish I could have seen him squat though... would have been hilarious.

haha i always like these threads. this topic never gets old. that's a good one you brought up, although i've never encountered someone like that.
i'll go with people doing almost anything other than squats in the power/squat racks. i rarely see anyone who really needs these racks for their exercises:
bent-over rows: deadlift the weight from the floor, you lazy piece of crap
curls: i don't even have to explain
very light overhead presses: r u telling me you can't freaking clean 95 lbs?! get out of the power rack with that shit!
upright row: see bent-over row
pull-ups: u self-centered, egotistical piece of garbage...r u trying to start a fight or something? why r u reserving the power rack for pullups when there are 1 quadrillion pull-up bars in the facility?!
deadlift: go use the floor, u idiot! you're not doing rack pulls, you're just using the floor inside the power rack. totally unnecessary.

none of the above crap-hounds deserves to stall my or anyone else's squat workout. i truly hope their next Christmas or birthday is terrible or that it rains all week during their beach vacation this year.
