Default Steinborn lift

From what I gathered, back in the 20s Milo Steinborn wanted to train legs while his peers mostly just focused on upper body. Without even squat stands, this is what he did:

I'm wondering, why the hell bother with it nowadays? Crossfit whispers about it,but really, why?

It works your core.

Also, a lot of old guys didn't just want to be able to squat or bench or whatever, they wanted to be bad ass and just effing pick up whatever came along. Sh*t like this is a hell of a lot better for picking up couches up a flight of stairs than squats with a bar are.

You can relate to that surely. I mean it's not like shooting yourself in the head, but it is good training where he risk is maybe a back tweak as opposed to a projectile into the head. Just sayin'

I used to try them from time to time. They're fun, tough, and at least for me, rubbed some good amounts of skin from my neck.

If you did them from the start of your squatting with the empty bar, progressing slowly but steadily, you would get a pretty strong trunk.

If you tried them only when you were squatting a couple of plates or more, you would probably fuck yourself handily.

Start as you mean to go on.

Funniest thing about the video is the guy on the bosu watching him attempt the lift.

No squat stands? I prefer to clean the bar and press it and then catch it bhn.

Well well
