I try to treat a PR the same way I treat every other lift, otherwise, what does that say about your mental focus and drive during your average workout? Are you not really there? Are you checked out somewhere else?

Today I tried a deadlift PR going the opposite way...I got psyched and crazy. Personally, all it did was distract me from thoughts of form and technique.

im not majorly crazy, my little ritual just helps to slow everything down, and clear my mind so i can focus solely on the lift. But its not cruise control for me
