Started football training today
Yep, as the title says I started football training with the Berkshire Renegades today. Had a couple of previous taster sessions, but this was the first one training with the team. Full padded training starts next week so this was just a pre-season fitness session plus some positional work.
We did some circuit training to begin with, working around various stations of suicide runs and SAQ drills. Wasn't anything crazy taxing, but nice to get the heart pumping and breathing hard. Looking forward to getting my fitness levels up over the pre-season.
Then we separated into our actual positions and worked on drills specific to that. I'm most likely going to play defensive tackle so I got to have fun working on a three-point stance and work with my hands to get past offensive lineman. 'Twas fun! Looking forward to fully padding up next week and hitting dudes.
During the week I'm going to work on pure strength, explosive work and some isolation hypertrophy to get hench. But yeah, there's the first session of my football experience - that of a Brit!
