If this doesn't make you wanner play...

Right, as i'm aware this is American dominated Forum, i'm not sure what the Rugby scene in America is at the moment? (would be interested to hear how it's going?)

As to what i hear it's a relatively underground game, as 'Football' (or as we call it 'American football') is by far more popular, I guess Rugby is to America what Lacrosse is to England? Only a small amount of people playing it here and there?

Anyway... I wanted all you to watch this video of Rugby, as in my opinion it's feckin' awesome! aha and primarily why i got into gym stuff to start with!

In no way is this going about starting one of those 'blah blah is a better game than blah blah.' i guess i just wanted to share this, as i love it, and if any of you guys get a chance to give it a go. Please do! i'd love to here what you think of it if you've played both Football and rugby!

Over and out,

Shaney.

A large portion of our logs are non-US lifters. Check them out.

We have some rugby players here. Jwood for sure. I think Hazz might have played to, but I don't think he lifts anymore.

No wonder you guys believe in socialized medicine.

Need to mix in some slants and corner routes.

Can anyone give me a heads up of what the rugby scene in the US is like? I'm keen to know!

Also if you've got 3 minuets kickin' about take a look at this:

It's madness!

Didn't go about pursuing it after school then?

Rugby reminds me of the football games that my friends and I played in the parks. Just good fun and hard hitting with no equipment.

I know that many high schools and colleges have rugby teams. Our town also has a youth league. It's less popular than football, basketball, baseball and soccer, but more popular than many of the other sports. It is definitely catching on here.

unfortunately I have 2 injury's at the moment so I will not be playing for a while

Back in the 70's I was stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI and two Australian tin cans came in. They put together a rag tag drunkin Rugby team and played the Uof Hawaii rugby team. I watched in awe as these drunkin sailors SPANKED the U of H team, which was organized and coached. Not sure I understand the rules, but definately a ruff game played without pads. That being said, the contact is not as violent as our "American" football since our guys are wearing protective gear. If not, someone would die every game.

Only you could manage to drag socialism into a thread on rugby. ;)
