Lucas Films Sold to Disney

The Walt Disney Company Acquires LucasFilm; Star Wars: Episode VII Set for 2015 - IGN

why would they ruin Star Wars....they should just stop what there doing and leave it a lone, and they are coming out with a new star wars now!!!

Star Wars was already ruined, less Lucas can only be a good thing.

Well I think building 1/2/3 later down the line for better graphics helped, but this is crossing the Line. What else can the throw into the series that has not happen already?

Disaster. George Lucas is a liar and a money whore.

The universe extends way past the "6th" film in novels. Id imagine they would take ideas from there. The novels are much darker then the movies though.

true, but you just can't change Luke in the movie

Just what we need. More awful Star Wars movies. I'll be skipping these. All of them.

I'm excited and my kids think their prayers have been answered. My youngest actually wrote Mr. Lucas a letter asking for another Star Wars movie. Bring it on.

The Star Wars series was always supposed to be 9 movies. I know there are many many books out there beyond that, and I have no idea if episodes 7, 8, and 9 were based on any books that have already been released.

But I'm excited too and hope they are better than Episodes 1, 2 and 3.

:)

Episode 7 will pick up after Return of the Jedi, and focus on the rebuilding. 8 and 9 will follow suit, similar style with a good overall story in 7, the bad guy winning in 8, and the good guy winning in 9. Then it will just be a crapshoot, whatever Mickey Mouse can think of to keep the series going.

This is what happened to Star Trek, and now that sucks. Why is great, never good enough?
