Barry Bonds*, honestly though think David Goggins has to be on this list , Navy Seal Ultra Marathoner/all around bad ass and Hero in an age of no hero's.

Any and ALL Navy SEALS should be #1 on this list. Phelps is a swimmer, but has he been "drown proofed" like every SEAL?

Fair enough.. But the bong hit shot takes away some of his cred IMO, simply because as a role model, there could be even just one kid who thinks its okay to get high, and you can still be a successful athlete.

I'm certainly not famous in any way, but if I knew I had that many people looking up to me, I would be a lot more careful, regardless of what I should or shouldn't be doing in the first place.
