Default Graduated !!

I have now completed 6 months of weight training....I feel I have graduated from a Novice to a Beginner.

As I am still a Beginner, I will still refrain from giving advice on this forum, except in those rare times I feel my personal experience might be of help to someone.

With that said, I am going to list, in no particular order, a few of the MANY, important things I have learned in my first 6 months....

1. Deadlifts are the absolute greatest exercise ever invented.

2. When you are a novice, no matter how much you THINK you know, in actuality, you don't know sh*t.

3. Listen to those who know, and have experience, the single most important thing you can do to help yourself.

4. BTB has been an invaluable help to me, and I have progressed more in the 2 months I listened to him, than the previous 4 months I THOUGHT I knew what I was doing.

5. I have a love/hate relationship with squats, I love what they do for me, but I hate doing them.

6. Compounds are Kings !!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. EAT...EAT....EAT!!!

8. HAVE FUN...if you are not really, really enjoying weight training, you are temporary at best.

I could go on all day, but I wont.

I just want to add a big "THANX" to everyone on this forum, you have all been very friendly and helpful, I would not be anywhere near where I am today without you all !!

Everyone, IMO, is a beginner but they all have advice to give...show me a powerlifter that has been in the game for years that still doesn't feel he can learn something new, though I reckon it would take quite a search to locate one; the only people that think they know everything and cannot learn anything new are generally the newbies with egos...which you are not.
