Default Sleep

Lately on workout days, I have trouble sleeping good. Anyone else have this? Done anything to resolve it?

Do you use pre-workout? If so, how close to bedtime do you use it? Also, do you use melatonin?

I do use Jack3d and I have it around 5pm. No I don't use melatonin.

I'd say it's probably the jacked.. It is fairly heavy on the stim side of supps.. Melatonin can help, but you can also become dependent on it, just like any other sleeping aid.

I try to keep all stims out after 2-3pm, and if I can't sleep, a shot or 2 of whiskey will usually help.

Yep, I'd agree with Ricka182, that's pretty close to bedtime. It stays in your system for several hours. I always take a melatonin - or 2 - before bed. I can live without it, but I sleep better with it.

Watch the alcohol idea as well, for some (not all) it can have them awake a couple of hours later and climbing the walls and if you're sensitive to the stims, that may well be the case with alcohol.

If I workout too late, it keeps me awake but then so do countless other things and sometimes stuff that I'm not even aware of...I guess, on the odd occasion, it's just a freak incidence that we can't pinpoint to anything in particular that may also keep us either mentally or physically alert at the wrong time of night; age also plays a part in disturbed or altered sleep patterns.

Sometimes my pre-workout lasts 5 hours after my workout.
