Exclamation DL double underhand grip...

Yeah, I know she keeps dropping the barbell instead of putting it down , really annoying, but I've never seen anyone do a double underhand grip, like it's the only style they know...

Very strange. Because of the rotation of the arm she is actually increasing the distance she has to pull with that grip.

Good lifting though, good on her.

Jen, it depends on if it's a competition lift. Some Organizations require only the lift, hence the term deadlift, not deadlift and replace. Other Orgs require the lift, lockout, and controlled release or it's not a good rep.

I prefer up and down, but probably because every gym I've worked in doesn't allow dropping the weights like that..not PF, but no dropping a heavy barbell.

DW, can you clarify if you know which orgs require which method?

I think one of the reasons most people dont drop the weights in the commercial gyms is simply because they arent bumper plates.

For a while I was working with bumper plates in an old gym and nobody ever had any problems with lifters dropping the weights. Oly lifters do it all the time anyway.
