1000 Rep Points in January Challenge

Here's how the challenge works:

Pick 4 barbell exercises you normally perform each week.

These should be major moves like benches, squats, deadlifts, military presses, curls, close grips, good mornings, whatever.

Goals - 1000 total "REP" points in January

Here's how to accrue points:

--1 point for each rep performed between 60-69% of your 1RM
--2 points for each rep performed between 70-79% of your 1RM
--4 points for each rep performed between 80-89% of your 1RM
--8 points for each rep performed over 90% of your 1RM
--10 points for ONLY one rep per week, performed over 100% of your 1RM

How you perform your workouts is up to you. Just be careful not to kill yourself on the 90% plus sets.

This is a VOLUME challenge. It's meant to get you in the gym cranking out the reps, growing and getting stronger.

These reps can include warm up sets as long as they are within these parameters.

Getting There

How do you get there?

If you work each exercise 4 times per week, you will have about 17 workouts during January. This breaks down to you needing 59 points per workout.

LOGGING POINTS

You can log your points here, if you'ld like, or just provide updates.

HAHA!!! I'm in. finally a challenge that won't throw my meet prep off. I will have to find out what my max is on bb curls and mil presses, but I'm in. Next week is a deload so it will be a good time to check my max on these two.

31/12/13

I started my "Skids 1000" a day early, because that's how it is with training and all. "Make hay while the sun shines"

I have been OKed to do this my the moderators.

Today is Deadlift day, My most disliked lift of them all so it is good to have some extra motivation like the "1000 Reper Challenge" to push me along a little.

Here's how it went down, BTW my max 1RM is 220kg.

Deads
60kg 1x10
100kg 1x5
140kg 1x3 60-69% range 1 point each =3
160kg 1x1 70-79% =2
180kg 1x1 80-89% =4
200kg 1x1 90+% =8
180kg 1x3 80-89% 4 points each=12
180kg 1x3 80-89% 4 points each=12
180kg 1x3 80-89% 4 points each=12
180kg 1x3 80-89% 4 points each=12
180kg 1x3 80-89% 4 points each=12

Grand total =77 points, by my count anyway.

Then I carried on and did some other less important stuff

Cheers, Nath
