11/08/2009: Deadlift Day

Workout Time: 59 minutes

Stuart McRobert owes me a rep.

I tried a standard overhand grip for the deadlift right out of the gate, and found that there's now way I can deadlift with anything but an alternating grip. McRobert recommended a double overhand grip and I thought I would give it a try. Complete disaster. I lost a rep for my first 10 minute deadlifting marathon.

Everything else went great. My strength was up on my back movements, and I destroyed my power shrugs. And I am absolutely destroying my Yates Rows. They have been extremely explosive the last several weeks. Also, it appears my months of sumo deadlifting has upped my conventional deadlift weight. 405 was rather light today.

Deadlift Singles - 10 minutes
405x9

Yates Rows - 30/30/60/60
165 x 10/5/4/5/5 Total = [29]

T-Bars Rows - 30/30/60/60
145 x 7/3/3/3/3 Total = [19]

Power Shrugs - 1 minute rest between sets
