I'm not familiar with 5/3/1. But I feel if you push reps with substantial poundage you will develop strength along with mass (with this I mean I don't train for size, I just want to move as much weight as possible. In which I have developed both size and strength). Ive been hitting a modified Westside for a while now, I want to give my joints a break and I talked with Steve. I was looking for a decent hypertrophy cycle to run for 8 weeks after my current cycle, I had some 5/3/1 suggestions and a few others. I have settled for one of Steve's creations to preserve my strength gains and hopefully add some substantial mass.
