I wish I had someone instructing me the first two years. I had a mentor, and he was a great guy, but this was 1986 and he came from the Arnold era and mindset. He would have me perform 6 sets per exercise with different rep schemes.

Of course, it worked. Because I was shooting for progression. Most everything works the first 6 months under that lens.

But I could have saved myself 30 minutes in the gym every day, and some long term body wear.
