surgeries take a while.
Body and mind are hesitant. Scar tissue to work out, etc.
But, you hit on a key to recovery... strong muscles support weak joints and damaged muscles need to be "over strong" to recover.
I pulled a quad once. Never had medical attention. Took 15 years to get it to the point where scar tissue wasn't visible (knotting under the skin), muscles contracted normal and it didn't factor into every leg move I did.
Spine surgery was similar...took me a year to deadlift 135 and it's still something I have to pay attention to. Surgery was in 2000.
Big ships turn slow...you're the captain and you've got work to do!
Successful people do what they have to whether they feel like it or not.
