Nothing, IMO, people use the poor form reason quite a lot yet there is poor form seen in every aspect of sport, and I know that some crossfitter places use Oly trained people to teach.

I've watched a specialised youtube vid where it's explained to crossfitters about the differences between pull-ups and kipping and another style of inbetween pull-up, in fact they had better pull-up technique, when they were doing the pull-ups (not the kipping) than most people I've seen do pull-ups.

It's just another system that some people prefer over others out there and it can't be denied that a good percentage of them are fit.
