Deadlift: 5,3,1,1 with 495 (belt, no straps)

^ I was intending to do 495x7 which would've beat my PR of 495x6 (December 2012), but I struggled to get the 5th rep, so I stopped the set, then did a few more sets with that weight. No excuses; it just wasn't a good day for me.


Cable Row, Seated: 3 sets of 8 with 260


Leg Curl, Lying: 9,8,7 with 175


Shrug: 3 sets of 8 with 545 (straps, no belt)

Sheiko CMS
Week 1, Day 1



Bench Press, Paused: 5 sets of 3 with 250 (no belt, no wraps)


Squat: 5 sets of 3 with 385 (belt)


Bench Press, Paused: 4,4,4,4,3 with 235 (no belt, no wraps)

^ This was supposed to be 5 sets of 4, but I was unable to finish the final rep of the 5th set.


Rack/Anderson Squat: 3 sets of 5 with 225 (no belt)

^ You can see in the video that these were a little higher than I wanted. I will probably put a layer or two of mats under my feet to start a bit lower, next time that I do it.

- I was also supposed to do a couple of other accessory movements after this, but I was too fatigued, and I was already there for much too long.

-- No more singles training for a while. Starting with this session, I'm doing another 9-week Sheiko CMS cycle to peak for my next meet on July 13th. The singles work was good, but I don't think that I can properly peak while on it, or at least it's not as cut-and-dry as the Sheiko method. Trying to get closer to 1400 (raw) @ 165. If I can get 1365 or more, I will officially be an MS (Master of Sport) powerlifter, according to the Sheiko classification chart.
