Alternatively, if you prefer the short sharp shock approach, meditate on the fate of the poorest people in the world, who outnumber the rest of us by far, living in poverty, misery, sqaulor, hopelessness. Realise just how lucky you are, and in just how many ways (which again, leads to the first option)...
