Son just finished his deads. His form came together tonight he couldn't believe how easy the pulls were. Weeks 3 last set 100lbs for 10 easy fast reps. Had him finish up with reverse hypers & incline situps. Will up the 1 rep max for the next cycle no deload just stick to the 5's for week one with light assistance work.
Bench press is the last lift he needs to have click, will work with him on form more this week in hopes he gets that feel for it.
Good call on bench OMP ... It may require some more time ... Your son is doing some very good work ... 100*10 is superb considering his age ...
I think you should also train your son for bench, may be once in a week or two ... I've seen people doing some 600+ squat and DL but their bench is somewhere between 275-350. And when it come to pause, wt. drops automatically further. But this is just my opinion ... As usual you know the best ...
