Definitely do the full 10 days the first time around - the last few days are rough.
What are your fats looking like? Ideally, a 1:1 ratio of protein to fats is what you should be shooting for. Most folks on DH recommend sticking in the 0.8-1.3g protein/lb of bw. If you go too much above this, protein may become the preferred fuel source (processed via glucogenisis), which is not what you want.
