The young people who have a respect for strength and the joy it can bring to one’s existence, can do squats, deadlifts, presses, bench presses, chins, rows, dips and curls in their basements or garages and not only “get by”, they can prosper. You don’t need a Russian/Bulgarian voodoo hogwash the training program designed to peak the fast twitch fibers in February. You do need a lot of motivation and enthusiasm to push and pull on the iron and strive to improve, strive to lift more each and every workout. Instead of reading the monthly periodicals and feeling as if one’s training is insignificant due to a lack of know how, equipment, nutritional supplements, drugs and a California tan, be thankful that properly performed strength training is not complicated in theory, and can be effectively done with relatively little in the way of equipment. Be grateful that properly performed strength training is safe and will allow you to be more resistant to injury.
