Makes sense, Brute. But you don't see them Sumo on max weight events either.
I'm not convinced either and one of the things I nit pick about with Darden is that he seems to sort of advocate the short cuts. What can you do to get the heaviest weights the fastest sort of thing. Briefs, suits, variations, etc.
I think for a guy like him that's been doing this a good long while, that's the way to go. But his channel seems like it is geared for newer type lifters given the questions he asnswers and I do not think it is in the best interest of newer lifters to box squat and get gear as soon as they can to be more "efficient". And I read all the time that normal squats and front squats are the way to go to get the base level of strength you need for strongman activities. I read one of those today on Elitefts. Chase somebody talking about front squats.
I think you need to take your raw strength in your normal stance pretty close to as far as it will go before you start dabbling in various gear and different styles.
