Default Playstation 3?

So I'm considering breaking down and buying a PS3. We've had one in the office here for a while now to entertain us during downtime. Grown accustomed to it really. Unfortunately, the PS3 went back to the US with it's owner, and we're begining to have withdrawals here. I hadn't realized how dependant we were on it.

Has anyone had any luck with Used/Remanufactured/Refurbished units? I'm not seeing much positive feedback on these and their longevity.

Does anyone have recommendations for picking up a new one at a decent price? Can't understand why these things have not decreased in price over the last SIX AND HALF FRIGGIN YEARS! If I can pick up a new one for a reasonable price, it would make me feel better than spending a similar amount for a "fixed" one.

Personal tips that I've learned along my still short journey:

Leave your ego at the door.
Prepare. Showing up dehydrated, hungry, and tired will guarantee failure.
Be ready to fight for that grinder of a PR.
Listen and learn. Absorb everything you can, and assimilate that knowledge.

Top Gym lifts:
Squat: 415lbs
Deads: 440lbs
Bench: 315lbs
