Squats. I hate squats because when I leave the gym, I regret not squatting more or heavier. I hate squats because I consider them the measuring stick against which strong men are judged. I hate squats because I think about them while at work, watching a movie, taking a shower, or eating my meals. I hate squats because mastering them will continue to be a goal until I can no longer squat. I hate squats because so many people do them in ways that makes even a rookie like myself want to slap them. And mostly, I hate squats because of my unrequited love.

Will I do squats again? I will do squats tomorrow, as I did today. After I've rested, I will squat more. More weight. More reps. I will squat again.

Personal tips that I've learned along my still short journey:

Leave your ego at the door.
Prepare. Showing up dehydrated, hungry, and tired will guarantee failure.
Be ready to fight for that grinder of a PR.
Listen and learn. Absorb everything you can, and assimilate that knowledge.

Top Gym lifts:
Squat: 415lbs
Deads: 440lbs
Bench: 315lbs
