I wish I could say something to take a bit of the sting away, but I can't except to say that during a cut, we can just try to minimize the strength loss.
If it's any consolation, I am aalso losing some strength, especailly now that I cannot heavy squat or deadlift. However, as Steve and Jay said, to look and feel better, and to be in better overall health, is worth it.
Keep at it Big J and reach your weight goal. We'll worry about the strength later.
