After the "volume" workout Friday, my low-back is still
sore along the upper hip line. Not sure if the creatine has anything to do with this...low-back pump, etc. is often felt as low-back stiffness for me.
If not that, then the next culprit is the slightly lowered squats. They were light but I've been grooving to pin setting "11" for so long that dropping down to "10" might have irritated me. I know my back started to flex at the bottom. I do not plan to compete so maybe staying with the safe setting (which is still parallel as far as I can tell) is the way to go.
Last possibility is the one-arm DB presses. It does feel like rotation is more aggravating right now than flex/extend. Resisting rotation and stabilizing might have been enough to tighten up my QLs, erectors, etc. It's also a tendency since my spine surgery. I can work back to handling more rotation. Unilateral and rotational work is critical to me since injury and the PL stuff so far has been bilateral and mostly sagittal plane.
Just thinking out loud.
I feel like I could dead lift today, so that's the plan for now.
