That's because hardly anyone has a gun and if they do, no one is allowed to open carry. There is no CCW for non-police/govt.

If the laws were identical, I'm sure the percentages ould be the same in NY as CO....there's just more people in NY so it would seem a bigger problem.

This may seem to argue for gun control. I am not against ensuring only responsible and gun-educated people can legally purchase guns, I am only against a blanket rule that says no guns.
