This is a tough one for me. Certainly the girl and her parents have to make their own decisions for themselves. As long as she's safe, and she appears to be, I'm fine with it.
For my own son, I would not make that same decision. I am sure he could squat 200 lbs given the chance and some time to build up to it. But why rush it? There is lots of time to get strong and display it. I just assume wait until puberty hits before really loading the intensity and let him make the claim that he wants to compete himself. I will just let the kid be a kid.
