Well if you squat and bench in a power rack theres no worry about trying maxes. However, with 5/3/1 you can calculate your 1RM using any rep ammounts. Honestly dont worry too much about your true 1RM, focus on progression and form...the strength and numbers will come . Keep workin hard!
