Kman, ultimately it's your life. The iron game is about learning. Try it and learn. You desperately want to improve, so I know you will no matter what route you take.

The bench for me has always been a slow grind. One rep per workout, up the hill. It's always been that way. It's taken me about 18 months post-injury just to hit a 350 bench. It might take me another 18 months to hit 400. Just remember that if this doesn't go your way, you still need to charge after one rep at a time. Some day the guys you are chasing will be chasing you. The iron game is a marathon, and you'll get there.
