You dont have to be a competing powerlifter to give advice on strength training and the same applies to bodybuilding.
I tend to agree with you about give strength training advice, but I wouldn't list my total X when you don't have an official total. I personally think what he is doing is fine, and wish him the best. I just want him to be prepared for the backlash of some internet gurus lol.
