Also, if we take those results at face value, I find 'em just horrifying. Thise percentages are scary, given the young median age of the respondents.
I'm clinging onto the hope that (a) self-reports aren't necessarily accurate and (b) a proportion may not really know what the hell a steroid is, and are confused. I've met plenty of kids who mix up creatine and steroids, or think protein powder has steroids in it. Plenty of adults get corticosteroids (like cortisone or other anti-inflammatories) and anabolic steroids mixed up.
