Strength training has a funny way of always working in matching numbers. So it's Starr's 5x5, or Korte's 3x3 or GVT 10x10. Equally it's one-to-one press and pull.

Can we not just see things more on an individual basis, if you have the following lifts covered:

Squat
Deadlift
Bench
Overhead Press
Chin/Row

Then more than likely most things are hit, and hit well. When you take into account the shape and multitude functions of the human body, trying to fit this around the 'equal push and equal pull' mantra seems bizarre at best.
