145x6 - New PR, this felt great. Solid reps, last one was a bit of a grind but went up fairly even.
Back off push press work - I'm trying a 25 rep goal on my assistance work.
115x7 - move up 5 pounds next week.
Close Grip Bench press
165x8 - 1 rep away from going up 5 pounds next week, but couldn't get it on any of the sets. Nuts. My tris are absolutely fried right now.
I have a love/hate relationship with the push press. I hate that it's such an ass kicker of a lift but I love the size and strength I've gained from it. This was a very good session of press for me. Speed was on, timing and form were solid. I'm finally excited about the push press again.
Question for you gents, is it a good idea to use a 25 rep goal for assistance work? I've noticed it in a few logs but wasn't sure if it was a style that I can use for all assistance work or just a couple of lifts?
