Today is the County Show, we're not attending because hubby can't walk, so it would be impossible to not only get there but even get around there, even though it's literally at the end of the road
The weather is great which means many will now be plastered, having sat in the sun drinking beer and other beverages; once saw a guy with a 70cl bottle of vodka, drinking it straight from the bottle like a cola...
Obviously being small island-bound, it's not "grandiose" by some standards but it is for the people and kids here, local culture at it's finest; there has been the odd occasion where someone has been kicked by a horse and ended up with a ruptured spleen etc...thankfully, a doctor was on site close by.
A lot of the show is about agriculture but they have tents for collecters of models/cars etc to display their collection; the bakes stall, and various competitions and the like, along with stalls for new businesses to promote themselves, educational stalls and so forth...and the one place you can get a really
good steak burger.
