Here's the recap:

So, today I competed in Lift The Rockies in Broomfield Colorado. It was quite a day with ups & downs, but overall a great learning experience and a lot of fun. I came in last (out of about 5 guys I think) for the Novice Lightweight which was disappointing but I learned a lot about how I need to train if I'm going to continue in this sport. So, here are the events and my results. Pix will follow as soon as my mom, who was kind enough to come with me and photo, e-mails them to me.

Truck pull with Range Rover (6000 lb curb weight) + 300 lbs
60 ft. in 26 seconds

Chain Yoke walk with 450 lbs
26 ft/80ft, there is absolutely no training substitute for this!!!

Atlas Stones 5 stones from 145-245
I got 4 stones up in about 20 seconds and spent the remainder of my minute trying to get stone 5 off the floor! But, this was the first time I had touched atlas stones.

"Trailer" deadlift
510 lbs, failed on 560. They drastically changed how this event went as far as starting weights and progression. But, this was a huge PR for any form of deadlift for me and this implement was nearly as awkward as the chain yoke. It was a very wide parallel grip with the apparatus so close to your backside that it was nearly impossible to get far enough forward to get it off the ground.

2.5" Axle Clean1x & Press for reps with 175 lbs
Clean was cake, then pressed 5 reps. Of course afterward I felt like 10 was in the realm of possibility! But, I think the ease of the clean compared to how it had been in training using a barbell w/fat gripz kinda mind-****ed me.
