I uysed to live for the pump. Then I realized if I just use a 15% weight and 100 reps, I get a similar pump. Clearly not the same, but I get the feeling.
Nowadays, or when I actually lift, if I ever get to lifting again, I go with working the muscle hard with short rep ranges and heavy weight, then progressing down a bit, then finishing off with a killer pump set. I get good work all around, and don't wind up overtraining.
