I may rattle some cages here. Truth is, there is no bodily receptor that determines what is a good protein or bad protein. There is nothing in your body that will suddenly reject a steak or a shake because it is or is not a "Whole" protein. That said, as Rich said, whey is a supplement. If you can eat good proteins you should eat them, but your muscles won't melt away from a lack of protein if you drink a shake. Use it all to your advantage.
