I find that hitting some volume and lowering the weight tends to really get things kicked off in the right direction, then I can upp the weight and lower the volume in a couple of weeks time. I'm mostly doing the volume work to reestablish some form of conditioning and it helps whilst I can't fully access my weight plates as well.
It's interesting how volume causes horrendous DOMS but heavier weight loads and lower volume don't appear to.
