For me it's hard not to drop the chest during the last 4 inches of the row. Bar speed is slowing but you're still pulling hard, so I think there is some physics in play here that almost forces you to pull towards the bar as the speed slows. Make sense?

Legs or not, I think both variations are sound. I find that a little more explosive of a pull (moving the torso up slightly as I pull, certainly no where near the level of bro rows), and a little more leg usage, takes some pressure off my lower back.
