I think it all depends. Sometimes i eat before I work out sometimes I dont.
During the week I have some almonds on my way home from work and then workout about a half hour later. I think you just need to experiment. I find if I eat too much especially carbs I can feel bloated and slow.
But not that long ago I would eat high carb before workouts, like oatmeal or something else full of sugar. Everybody is different
