I lift because it's become tied into my sense of self. I've been lifting for 33 years and I don't know how to stop. I also feel happier when I'm stronger and/or more muscular than when I'm weaker and smaller.
I only enjoy it, however, when I feel I'm progressing in some way. It's just too harda hobby to stand there spinning my wheels.
