I had some more woes today. I spend some time helping beginner. I placed him on a simple A/B, John Christy-like split. 2 days later he decides that my routine doesn't have a direct trap exercise, so it's no good. Before you know it, he's tinkering with the routine and I pull out.

Note to beginners...want big traps? Deadlift until you can hit 400+ pounds. After that point, assess your trap growth and make necessary course corrections.

Beginners would rather do dumbbell shrugs then deadlifts.
