Actually, I can and do most of that kind of stuff by myself. Not much into construction (don't know how to do drywall) but the other things I don't have a problem with. My dear old dad always used to say "You want something done right, gotta do it yourself." Sorry but I don't play the gender roles. That's just me. If I waited around for someone else to do stuff for me, things would never get done. I think the only reason I really keep a man around the house is because batteries get expensive. I'm with you, I love to work with varnish and wood; hubby helps with dishes, washing...and we pretty much share the workload 50/50 as much as we can, what one can't do, the other steps up to the mark to accomplish; or both of us have a go, if neither is capable
of the task.
I get to smooth the walls with polyfilla though, 'cos hubby's a crap cake icer
