Great and heartfelt post Carl.

Even though I'm not competing for a long time, I have numbers I want to hit and I know that I need to push hard to get there. This makes training hard an easy thing to do. I know that I have to in order to hit my goals. The thing is, even when I stop competing, I will still have goals. I just don't know what they are yet. That's just the way I am.
