I use it when deadlifting in the near 1rm zone, for rack pulls, box squats (when going heavy) and when shruging.

The fact that a belt supports the lower ab is imo mostly from the ab's squeesing against the belt and creating a pressure which stabilizes the lower back and core.

For this reason i also use it on occasion when pushing heavy, seated or standing.
