yeah like gamma said upper back is where it is at if you dont have it or dont know how to engage it your losing lot of strenght. you have to realise also its harder to overtrain for us then someone beching 450 or 500 to if it was me I would be doing low heavy reps the whole way twice a week. if not three times I would warm up and do 2 sets of five or lower then mabey a back off light set. and gradually lower my reps. If your main goal is to bench 300 and you let up the loads else I think it could be done like just do maintence squats and back as bench assitance only.
