Food proteins are always best. Powder supplements help with getting in the extra grams without the since of overeating and pure convenience. I personally use a whey/casein blend throughout the day with meals, whey post workout and casein right before bed. I also aim for 1-1.5gr per approximate lean body weight. This is what I use and it seems to work for me. Im no expert by any means, check around and get all the input that you can.
