There is a learning curve, but they are crazy fun!! The shave is also very very smooth when you get the hang of it, also there is a big community around them that do crazy stuff. There is a forum all about them (Straight Razor Place is the name of it). The owner of it also sells and hones them, its a great place to start!

They feel very old school which is very cool IMO
